Job Description
Purpose/Objective
A project lead engineer is an organized engineer who plans, manages, and ensures projects are completed on time.
As a Lead Project Engineer, the individual will be accountable for all the engineering and technical aspects of the assigned projects.
Apart from scheduling, managing and resourcing the technical disciplines, the Engineer will disburse all the tasks mentioned on the Job description – preparing and scheduling the assigned engineering projects; monitoring compliance to applicable codes and practices; performing overall quality control of the work; assigning responsibilities, and reviewing engineering deliverables.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Integrating various project activities, functions, processes to ensure smooth and timely execution of projects.
Review Licensor / DEC scope documents and enquiry documents.
Reviewing Licensor FEED/ FEEP and DEC deliverables.
Preparing and issuing detailed project specific project execution plans including procurement management plan, contract management plan, engineering management plan, HSE management plan, Quality management plan etc.
Monitor implementation of Quality Management systems (QMS) in project documentation system Set up processes & mechanism for seamless interfaces among Projects, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Vendors, Contractors & Operations.
Should be a technological expert in coke making, coal blend design, process model development, data analysis, quality control, prediction models, process innovation.
Experience in coke oven commissioning, heating & process control , Battery operations, material handling, and by-product operations.
Monitoring and controlling of pushing and charging operation.
Co-ordinating with Procurement and Contracts team for material and services procurement.
Co-ordination with logistics team to ensure timely delivery of equipment at site.
Executing project activities as per approved project management plans and organization policies and procedures.
Organizing and coordinating various review meetings to ensure resolution of hold points and to streamline the project activities.
Issuing MOMs and tracking pending actions.
Arranging Kick-Off Meetings with Licensor, DEC and various vendors and coordinating for deliverables review & approval.
Reviewing Licensor / DEC offers and finalizing their scope.
Identifying and managing the risks through out the project life cycle.
Ensure that all vendors used by the EPC/ EPCM contractor are selected, evaluated, and re-evaluated and that records of this assessment are maintained.
Regularly reviews the project status and resultant risk analysis and suggest mitigation plans.
Support project team to maintain safe systems, provide specialist advice, and practical support.
Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
Identifying the Training Needs for the team members and to layout key training Gaps Ensuring completion and closure of project in all aspects.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification: B.
Tech / B.
E (Chemical / Metallurgy/ Related) from a reputed institute/ university.
Masters degree in the same is preferred.
Experiences: Total 16-20 years of work experience with 5 years relevant experience in the similar role in a large/ mid sized organization.
Should have experience of overall project cycle from concept to commissioning and handover to client.
Hands on experience of basic & detail engineering of Ammonia / Nitric Acid / TAN Exposure of project management in Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Operating in Ammonia / Nitric Acid / TAN Skills: Manufacturing/Site Work/ Trouble Shooting/ Operational experience related to Battery/Machine will be an added advantage.
Inventing modelling Competency, Knowledge on Pollution & Emission Control, Possess knowledge of key design aspects of battery components and systems.
Well conversant with Coke Plant operation, knowhow of equipment, systems etc Knowledge in Project Management tools and techniques.
Should have a knowledge of design of major components and systems involved in Ammonia / Nitric Acid / TAN Professional skills combined with leadership capability and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with good problem solving and analytical skills.
