Deck City is looking for a Lead Builder (Lead Carpenter) who can take full ownership of a jobsite from start to finish.
This is not just a senior carpenter role — this is a leadership position. You will be responsible for running projects, leading a crew, and ensuring every build meets our standards for quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

What You’ll Be Responsible ForJobsite Leadership & Ownership
Take full responsibility for projects from start to completion
Lead the crew and maintain momentum throughout the day
Make day-to-day decisions without relying on constant direction
Ensure projects stay on track and running efficiently
Quality & Craftsmanship
Build according to drawings, specifications, and code
Maintain high standards of workmanship across all phases
Identify and fix issues before they become problems
Deliver finished projects you’re proud to stand behind
Crew Leadership
Assign tasks based on skill level and efficiency
Keep crew members productive and accountable
Train and support assistant builders
Set the tone for professionalism and work ethic on site
Communication
Act as the on-site point of contact when required
Communicate progress, delays, and issues clearly
Bring solutions, not just problems
Keep leadership informed and aligned
Planning & Organization
Plan ahead for materials, tools, and workflow
Keep jobsites clean, organized, and professional
Eliminate downtime caused by poor planning
Safety & Accountability
Enforce company safety standards at all times
Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful jobsite
Protect client property and surroundings
Operations & Systems
Coordinate materials and communicate next-day plans
Maintain tools, trailers, and equipment
Participate in meetings and project close-outs
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in residential construction
Minimum Level 3 Carpenter
Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
High attention to detail and craftsmanship standards
Organized, reliable, and accountable
Strong communication skills
Someone who takes ownership — not just instructions
