Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data / Platform Engineer to join a Cloud Foundation Platform team. This role involves leading an Agile technical team to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms that enable secure, compliant, and high-quality data solutions.
You will play a key role in delivering data pipelines and data lake solutions while ensuring best-in-class engineering standards, collaboration, and innovation across teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor an Agile technical team, fostering innovation, learning, and collaboration
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data lake architectures
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions
• Own codebases and technical applications end-to-end
• Collaborate with risk, security, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS)
• Identify overlapping technical requirements across teams and contribute to long-term technology roadmaps
• Promote best practices in coding standards, testing, and DevOps processes
• Support Agile delivery methods to achieve high-value outcomes
Mandatory Technical Skills (Must-Have)
• Apache Spark / Hadoop – Strong hands-on experience
• AWS Cloud Services – Strong experience with:
• AWS Glue
• Amazon S3
• AWS Step Functions
• AWS Lambda
• EventBridge
• SQS
• Lake Formation
• Athena
• Programming: Significant experience in Scala or Python (PySpark preferred)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong experience with Terraform
• DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines
• Version Control & ALM Tools: Git, Bitbucket, Jira
• Leadership Experience: Minimum 3+ years in a Lead role
Additional Technical Skills
• Experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration
• API integration and configuration-as-code principles
• Automated testing methodologies
• Ability to analyze, investigate, and compare large datasets
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns
Soft Skills
• Ability to clearly explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
