In This Role, You Will
• Lead complex or critical database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and business groups, including database architecture, design, integration and data modeling
• Provide the highest technical expertise for the planning, research, design implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
• Review and analyze complex database technologies that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
• Design and certify next generation database technologies
• Assist in database installations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Recommend improvements to web application processing issues and design
• Consult with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long range internal and enterprise level database architecture and management strategies
• Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications, US:
• 5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Required Qualifications, International:
• Experience in Database Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
• 7+ years of database design and administration experience.
• 5+ years of DB2 experience.
• Knowledge of Mongo

• Ability to see the big picture and influence future direction in alignment with Enterprise Database Management Engineering and enterprise goals.
• Automation - Streamline repeatable build and operational support practices that scale with technology changes.
• Develop database high availability and replication solutions to meet the requirements of high tier applications.

• Manage db2HADR and cluster services like VCS, TSA.
• Perform encryption procedures for databases both transit and data at rest.
• Ability to write scripts to automate process and enhancements.
• Patching MongoDB instances to latest level.
• Build and managing large shard clusters with replication sets.
• Trouble shooting /performance tuning.
• Database backups, restore and point-in-time recovery.
• Ops Manager installations, configurations, monitoring and patching.
• Recovery from Ops Manager and analyzing performance metrics.
• Knowledge on SAN and File system level backups.
• Ensure that the databases achieve maximum performance and availability.
• Design indexing strategies, Create roles and users and set their permissions.
• Experience in LDAP and Kerberos and x50+ certificates authentications and authorization.
• On-Call technical support to minimize the impact of system disruptions.
• Flexible in availability and good coordination with onsite team.
