Full Job Description
To implement, maintain and design database and install new systems and enhancements. Plan execution of backup, recovery and other housekeeping scripts to ensure regular maintenance and availability of databases as per corporate standards. Help validate and fine tune the capacity planning. Lead the designing of databases for software applications by guiding team on latest features provided by the DBMS for administration, performance and specialized features (e.g., data warehousing features, real application clusters, data guard, advanced replication). Handle L3 tickets (e.g. critical production issues). Ensure development of efficient database queries, and also that database refresh and cloning activities are carried out periodically. Set database parameters for better performance. Carry out periodic audit activities and ensure basic controls are maintained to enable database security, compliance with change management and other corporate policies. Suggest database level changes by analyzing the database reports. Help in preparing reports for management review meetings. Guide junior resources in carrying out activities.
