About HID Global, Chennai
HID Global’s Flagship R&D Center in Chennai hosts 300 employees in a 48000 square foot space dedicated to delivering innovative products and provide an excellent platform for scaling our operations in delivering secure access solutions. Here we deliver cloud-based solutions, web and mobile application development. The Chennai R&D Center is seen as the subject matter expert and talent pool on the latest cloud technologies, logical and physical access systems, data engineering including AI/ML, cryptographic key management systems, and other mobile-based smart card delivery systems.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Contribute as an embedded firmware developer on multiple simultaneous programs and projects
• Actively participate as a member of a cross-functional team in order to appropriately plan and schedule programs
• Effectively report status, concerns and make recommendations in team meetings
• Design and implement embedded firmware and code reviews
As our Lead Embedded Engineer, you’ll support success by:
• 8-10 years of experience as an embedded firmware programmer
• Strong programming skills in implement projects and providing technical guidance with minimal oversight
• Excellent C programming skills
• Experience with RTOS as well as state machine based embedded systems.
• Software debugging skills, with working knowledge of hardware
• Experience in working with any microcontrollers (ARM/MIPS) is a must
• In-depth knowledge of ARM microcontroller architecture a plus
• Experience in communication protocols like UART, I2C, SPI and USB
• Experience on any wireless RF protocols such as BLE will be an added advantage
• Ability to use tools like oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and multimeter to debug analog circuits.
• Ability to read and understand hardware schematics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with other developers, hardware engineers and testers in the development of the system.
• Motivated to learn new technologies and programming languages/standards
Process Requirements
• Experience in using Git or any similar version control platform
• Experience working in Agile Scrum/Kanban teams
• Demonstrated ability to follow software development guidelines and processes to generate defect free and efficient code, technical software descriptions, and other artefacts as required by the software development processes.
