Position Description
The bank has thousands of technologies in use across the breadth of our IT landscape, both within our infrastructure platforms and our business application portfolio. The VP Technology Management role will play an important part in setting the direction for the portfolio of technologies by driving the definition of strategies for each technology domain This will underpin the strategic CTO goal of operating like a modern technology company, including a focus on product management based on a standardized technology portfolio. The role will require strong collaboration across multiple TDI teams and stakeholders, taking ownership of the approach taken to defining the strategies and ensuring consistency and clarity of the output. Over time this role has potential to develop further into areas of CTO strategy, technology product management.

Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Work as part of the Strategy workstream in Product & Technology Management to elaborate technology strategies across the key technology domains of the bankCollaborate with the owners of technology design authorities to identify the technologies in scopeWork closely with technology product teams and application and technology owners to deliver the analysis and definition work required, clearly identifying which technologies are strategic, which are suitable to deliver as shared product platforms, and which are rationalization candidatesIdentify value creation opportunities through simplifying the technology estate
• Support the documentation of technology strategies and roadmaps, ensuring clear standards that enable consistency across domains
• Describe architectural decisions to frame these clearly for senior management including the options and potential impactInvestigate key architectural choices with the responsible architects to evaluate the best option for the bankProvide recommendations to the bank's technology governance forums
• Work collaboratively with other Product & Technology Management workstreams, such as Portfolio Management, to ensure continuity from strategy to execution
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders across TDI, ensuring a balance of supporting others while holding them accountable for delivering
• Run ad-hoc data analysis to derive key insights to drive decision making
• Ensure adherence to internal policy
• Ability to multi-task on assignments/projects in addition to managing daily responsibilities
• Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Education/ Qualifications/Skills
• BE/ME/MS in Computer Science or other Technology related area
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in IT architecture roles
• Strong understanding of technology architecture concepts, including widely used solution architecture patterns, use of functional taxonomies, lifecycle management
• Good knowledge of a wide range of enterprise technologies
• Good knowledge of financial markets and banking would be an advantage
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency in documentation & office tools (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Data management and problem-solving skills.
