Lead Engineer - Android

What the role is all about:
We're seeking a Lead Engineer Android (5-8 years experience) to join the team at REA Cyber City. You will be working collaboratively with our product and technical team members to help deliver and support REAs estate App products (Android).
This is your chance to work on impactful projects that drive customer satisfaction and company growth. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies alongside talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment.
While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include:
• Use your passion for mobile development to aid in enabling a platform-appropriate, seamless and human-centered experience for their users.
• Work closely with product and design teams to translate user needs into technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet user requirements.
• Collaborate closely with a variety of teammates to build features, brainstorm design concepts, and develop interactive prototypes.
• Work within value-driven teams to craft innovative customer experiences on Android platforms.
• Foster a well-connected and knowledgeable team by sharing knowledge through sessions, mentoring other team members, and contributing to the Android development roadmap.
• Work towards shared team goals and contribute to successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with team leads to define, advocate and embody best practices within the team like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns.
• Actively participate in pairing, code reviews, unit testing, and secure deployments to deliver secure and quality code.
• Stay up to date on the latest web development trends and apply them to solve complex challenges.
• Take ownership and accountability of deliverables.
Who we are looking for:
• Over 5 years of experience building high-quality, performant Android applications.
• Proficient in Kotlin, the latest Android APIs, and best practices.
• Solid understanding of Java fundamentals and object-oriented programming principles.
• Comfortable with Agile, and / or Continuous Delivery methodologies.
• Good awareness of TDD,CI/CD approaches and tools.
• Someone who demonstrates a commitment to quality and a keen eye for detail in their code.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with global teams.
• Someone who approaches problems with a solutions-oriented mindset and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• A lifelong learner, someone who is eager to stay updated on the latest web development trends.
