Role: Lead Engineer - Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you’ll play a pivotal role in accelerating delivery of high-quality products. You’ll leverage your extensive technical expertise and leadership skills to build quality into products, mentor junior team members, and drive innovation across TSB.
You’ll be a proficient software engineer and have a deep understanding of testing principles. You’ll have strong financial services knowledge enabling you to be effective in early product refinement using Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) techniques. As a Lead SDET, you’ll drive continuous improvement and innovation, explore new technology and ways of working to enhance team productivity and efficiency. Furthermore, you’ll work with product owners, application engineers and operations to define specific and targeted test approaches.
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Java and/or JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of Retail and SME Banking products including Lending and Mortgages.
• API level testing using tools such as REST Assured, Spring MVC Test framework.
• Web UI test automation using Playwright, Cypress and/or Selenium.
• Mobile and Desktop UI Testing using Appium.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
• Experience with implementing CI/ID pipelines for build, test and deploy using tools such as Github, Jenkins, Azure DevOps etc.
• Background in scaled agile software delivery.
