LEAD INTERNAL AUDITOR – GROUP SERVICES
MIDLANDS / NORTHERN ENGLAND
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Internal Auditor to join the team at Galliford Try within our Group Services Division.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Midlands / Northern England area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
The role of the Lead Internal Auditor, reporting to the Audit Manager, is to engage with the business to deliver the work of the Internal Audit department in a professional manner. The Lead Internal Auditor will also act as a colleague and mentor with other members of the department.
Schedule, prepare, execute and lead audits, including participating and leading meetings, reviewing colleagues’ testing and draft findings as well writing up your own testing.
Support colleagues to identify potential findings and agree their factual accuracy and potential impact with auditees.
Support colleagues to formulate and agree action plans, including their importance and timeframes, with auditees.
Manage the formulation and completion of audit reports.
Follow up on the implementation of agreed actions.
Facilitate business unit risk reviews.
About You:
The candidate will be working in Internal Audit or for a firm of accountants.
Knowledge of the construction sector is beneficial, but not a requirement.
The candidate will have experience of leading audits with multiple auditors and be qualified in a relevant qualification i.e. CIA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, etc.
The candidate will be able to produce high quality work and will work well leading and being part of a team both remotely and in-person.
The role will involve communication at all levels of the Group so well-developed interpersonal skills are required including being able to deliver difficult messages and to agree action plans.
Effective time management and planning.
The candidate will be very analytical and have an inquisitive nature.
The role is home-based with access to a local office if preferred.
The role will operate throughout the Group and will involve some travelling (up to 20% UK travel). There is flexibility in where the role is based, but preferably in the Midlands or Northern England.
