IDFC FIRST Bank is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Vice President-Retail Banking Legal to join our team in Delhi, India. The Vice President-Retail Banking Legal will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to our retail banking operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice and support to the retail banking business unit on all legal matters, including but not limited to lending, deposits, and other retail banking products and services
• Review and draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to retail banking operations
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to retail banking
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks
• Manage and oversee external legal counsel and ensure timely and cost-effective legal services
• Represent the bank in legal proceedings related to retail banking operations
• Provide training and guidance to retail banking staff on legal and compliance matters
• Stay updated on industry best practices and make recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation strategies
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
• Strong knowledge of retail banking laws, regulations, and industry best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in managing and leading a team
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• High level of integrity and ethical standards
