Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Technician works as a specialist and a lead worker in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, irrigation, electrical, and equipment operation and maintenance. This position plans, assigns, and reviews the work of staff performing a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of campus grounds, structures, and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform skilled maintenance of facilities in areas of landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, irrigation, electrical, and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Some duties may include repairing flooring, drywall, appliances, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, safety and security systems (lighting, locks, smoke/CO2 alarms, etc.), and HVAC systems; painting (interior and exterior); and cleaning.
• Inspect work of others for quality, completion, safety and compliance.
• Fix general plumbing issues, including toilet and sink clogs, leaks, etc...
• Helps with event set up and take down, including chairs, tables, garbage cans, clean up, and any facilities related duties requested.
• Conduct all job duties in accordance with company safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with building administrators and staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for all students and staff.
• Train entry level staff.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or facilities maintenance.
• Ability to apply skilled techniques and use the tools of the following categories: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, small equipment repairs or welding.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Ability to use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
• Valid Driver License
Preferred education and experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience leading a maintenance team
• Construction Background experience (is a plus)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, push 50 pounds, bending, standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
Must pass federal background check and TB testing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
