Role Summary/Purpose
• Lead Manufacturing Specialist – Testing will be the primary interface between manufacturing, program management, Requisition engineering & Quality for all manufacturing test process development, conducting Electrical Testing, trouble shooting and day to day testing activities of High Voltage Power Electronic products and Control system cabinets.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Lead Manufacturing Specialist – Testing you will:
• Design, develop and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment
• Define the software and hardware requirements for production level tests
• Justify and procures test hardware and other capital expenditures needed for production test
• Hands on Experience on Testing Mark Vie Control Cabinets, Starters and Excitation Cabinets.
• Hands on Experience in C or C++ programming and Knowledge on Source code terminologies.
• Setup and deploys test hardware, software, stations, etc. in production
• Carry day to day testing activities of Power system products and Control Cabinets.
• Document functional test requirements and conduct test according to applicable standards, conduct project FAT’s with both internal and external customers.
• Train the testing team members in the use of test equipment, test process and coach the testing team
• Communicate and implement Engineering Change Order (ECO) driven changes to test process and fixtures for all levels of testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to plan test development schedules and allocate resources
• Test cell upgradations and digital projects providing oversight on schedule, budget, and technical details.
• Assure proper documentation of test cell configuration consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Support knowledge sharing and lessons learned initiatives with team and mentor others on best practices for Team Development.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Benchmark and investigate new test technologies and test equipment for current and future products
• Lead and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Perform defect Analysis & PFMEA for test processes. Experience in RCA & basic quality tools.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Full time Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering
• Minimum of 8-13 years working experience in testing of Control systems, Excitation systems, static starters, control cabinets, converters, inverters, UPS, switch gears etc.
• Hands on experience on SCR’s, IGBT based converters and inverters testing.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
Desired Characteristics
• Experience with automated test equipment’s (Functional testing, Load tests etc.,)
• Sound knowledge and Hands on experience on Power Electronics (IGBTs, thyristors, passive components).
• Experience developing hardware/software test processes
• Experience with Automation testing of Electronic products using test software’s like NI LabVIEW etc., . Good to have: GE Toolbox ST software experience
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver systems that are modular, scalable, and customizable
• Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to setting and meeting aggressive targets and goals
• Self-motivated, high energy individual with passion for excellence and the ability to energize others
• Results oriented and capable of leading projects; forward thinking & proactive
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Knowledge o Networking concepts.
• Demonstrate to work independently within and between teams and as an individual, ability to coordinate and lead a small team
• Able to work to deadlines with high quality
