Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Painter to oversee painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in various painting techniques, including airless spray, restoration, and specialty finishes, along with leadership abilities to guide a team of painters. This role involves interpreting blueprints and schematics, estimating project costs, and ensuring high-quality workmanship on time and within budget. The Lead Painter will also coordinate with clients, manage safety protocols, and contribute to renovation and remodeling projects. A background in construction site experience and maintenance person skills is highly valued to support diverse project needs.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality expectations
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications
Perform residential, commercial, construction, restoration, and industrial painting using various techniques such as airless spray and brush/roller application
Prepare surfaces through plastering, caulking, sanding, or other methods to ensure optimal paint adhesion
Estimate material quantities and labor costs for projects using construction estimating skills and basic math
Operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and other equipment safely and efficiently
Install fixtures, trim carpentry elements, or perform masonry work as needed during renovation or remodeling projects
Coordinate with clients and project managers to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues promptly
Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed throughout the project lifecycle
Experience
Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting, or industrial painting environments
Strong knowledge of color theory, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and construction drawings
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools including airless paint sprayers, welding equipment (preferred), caulking guns, plastering tools, masonry tools, and fixture installation techniques
Familiarity with renovation processes such as restoration work, framing carpentry (including trim carpentry), stucco application, concrete finishing, masonry work, remodeling projects, and maintenance tasks
Ability to read schematics and technical documents related to construction projects
Previous leadership or supervisory roles in construction or painting teams are highly desirable
Additional skills such as welding or maintenance person experience will be considered a plus for versatile project support

Pay: $25.69 - $30.94 per hour
