Lead Payroll Officer
The Role:
The Lead Payroll Officer is a leadership position within the School. They are responsible for coordinating and managing the accurate and compliant delivery of end-to-end payroll services.
Reporting to the Manager Finance, the Lead Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services. This includes end-to-end payroll operations ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and providing guidance to the Payroll Officer. The role also drives a culture of continuous improvement in payroll systems and processes
This is a permanent, full-time position based at the Kew campus.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or business with advanced excel skills
Extensive experience leading an end-to-end payroll function and demonstrated experience in mid-level to senior staff management role
Ability to lead and mentor Payroll Officer, to drive performance, drive development and system capability
iChris experience will be highly regarded
Oracle experience will be highly regarded
Technically experienced in payroll with up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to interpret awards and enterprise bargaining agreements
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
