CDM Smith is looking for an innovative and persuasive Lead Proposal Writer to become part of our marketing team. The successful candidate will skillfully transform ideas into captivating content that resonates with clients and clearly highlights our unique approaches and technical solutions.
We prioritize a positive mindset, flexibility in adapting to changes, and the ability to engage effectively with others in a team setting. Ideally, you will have a portfolio demonstrating creativity and compliance with client RFPs while captivating the target audience.

As a member of our CDM Smith team, you will contribute by:
• Planning and executing marketing and business development strategies across the North Region.
• Crafting, editing, and refining content for proposals, presentations, resumes, project descriptions, and other marketing materials for municipal water and environmental clients.
• Driving brainstorming and strategy sessions with a creative, theme-based approach.
• Maintaining our firmwide database by updating resumes, project descriptions, proposals, and qualifications.
• Engaging actively in CDM Smith’s marketing initiatives by participating in task forces and committees.
• Enhancing your skills through training resources and involvement in professional associations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 6 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed based on responsibilities.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
• B.A. or B.S. in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience in an architectural, engineering, construction, or technical firm.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Copilot, and SharePoint; advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in editing and proofreading technical narratives.
• Practical experience in facilitating proposal development and strategy sessions.
• Able to operate under tight deadlines with minimal margin for errors.
• Familiarity with business development and marketing process models.
