Job Title: Lead Senior Backend Developer (Java)
Location: Remote UK
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Senior Java Developer to lead our remote backend development team, delivering cutting-edge web applications for a variety of client projects.
In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the architecture, development, deployment, and maintenance of Java-based backends. Our stack includes Spring Boot on the backend and Angular on the frontend, deployed on Google Cloud Platform.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Leading the development of robust backends using Java, Spring Boot, Postgres, Hibernate, and Flyway.
• Building backend APIs, maintaining high code standards, and ensuring overall backend quality.
• Conducting comprehensive code reviews and providing feedback to other backend developers.
• Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Developing and maintaining scalable microservices architecture.
• Contributing to projects for clients ranging from small businesses to large enterprises.
• Collaborating remotely via Slack, Jira, Zoom, and Confluence.
• Working in an Agile Scrum environment, participating in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL.
• Hands-on knowledge of Git, relational databases, and cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Docker
• A meticulous approach to writing clean, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on testing.
• Enthusiasm for problem-solving and a proactive, can-do attitude.
• A collaborative mindset, with a passion for mentoring and improving team performance.
• Ability to work independently within an Agile Scrum team.
