About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking an innovative and dynamic Lead Software Full Stack Engineer. We are looking for a hands-on individual to be an integral part of the design, build out and adoption of an exciting new SaaS, cloud-based higher education solution. Working closely with product architects and product management you will be working on a new technology project involving the design and creation of a new product.
Where you will make an impact
• Participating in the design, development, and delivery of new solutions for the next generation of Higher Education products.
• Communicating to technical and non-technical audience both internally and with clients and business partners
• Advocating and implementing engineering best practices for Server side, Database and UI development including performance metrics.
• Providing written and verbal knowledge and to other team members through collaboration and training
What you will bring
• 8+ years of experience as a full stack software developer in a software product company.
• At least 5 years of extensive server-side development experience in technologies like Node JS, Java/Groovy, Spring, Hibernate.
• Solid fundamentals on Object-Oriented Design, Patterns and Data Structures.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with web tier programming / UI Layer – React JS, Angular or similar UI framework.
• Have a strong, working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals and standards.
• Strong experience is desirable in database technologies like Oracle, PL/SQL, Postgres, and ability to write complex queries.
• Hands on experience with CI/CD pipeline such as Jenkins.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, DevOps Tools, Liquibase and Docker.
• Experience in technically leading a team of Software Engineers or experience in mentoring/coaching other developers.
• Hands-on experience with cloud tools, services, and technologies (preferably AWS)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience with design and development of highly available, distributed, and scalable transactional enterprise systems.
• A self-motivated and innovative mindset with a passion for learning new technology.
• Strong, effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Desirable - Experience using some of the following tools: Selenium WebDriver, CodeUI, JUnit, JMeter
• Desirable - Scrum master experience.
