We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build and maintain the API layer used to communicate with our Unified Customer Profile (UCP) data sources. In this role, you will apply variety of technologies to develop innovative solutions. This position is a critical element to delivering Fidelity’s promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.

• Develop code in Java including debugging existing code and designing and executing unit tests.
• Develop containerized, cloud native applications.
• Create, update, and maintain user documentation for software-based projects and products.
• Interact effectively with business partners to understand business requirements and assist in creation of technical requirements.
• Participate in architecture, technical design, and product implementation discussions.

A Lead Software Engineer in PI Customer Data Technologies is responsible for design and development of highly available, scalable and distributed customer data platforms APIs using open-source frameworks
• Very good understanding of Java 11 and above
• REST concepts to develop secure REST APIs
• Experience in crafting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and UDeploy
• Application Development based on JIRA stories (Agile environment)
• Proven track record of analyzing business requirements to craft and build technology solutions
• Solid understanding of messaging frameworks like ActiveMQ and Kafka
• Understanding of Cloud Platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in fast paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channels
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization
• Standout colleague and able to mentor junior team members

The Expertise We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree in a technology related field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
• Java development experience
• Knowledge and experience in Relational Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.). Experience in NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Elastic search, Graph DB, etc.) will be an added advantage.
• Solid experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM)
• DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Docker)
• Working knowledge of Messaging Technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, SQS)
• Knowledge of how to develop highly scalable distributed systems using Open-Source technologies
• 5+ years of IT experience
• Graduate
• Certifications if any
