Lead Software Engineer – JD
As the ‘lead software engineer’, you will be responsible for effectively leading & managing the digital product platforms of the company in the health-tech & pharma domains. This will include but not be limited to building and nurturing the tech team and coordinating with the head of the software engineer on various technology decisions for relevant outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the software development team (both outsourced & in-house) to develop, document and maintain entire cutting-edge mobile & web-based products.
• Own the responsibility & analyse, design, develop and support all software application systems utilising standard development tools.
• Designing, coding, and debugging software.
• Review code base, sonar fixes and all documents related to product development. Assist in maintenance and upgrades of existing software applications.
• Provide support in all phases of SDLC and ensure delivery of high-quality products.
• Analyse and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion.
• Assist in technical audits and make sure to implement audit recommendations.
• Work with the QA team in preparing test cases, plans and procedures.
• Recommending new technologies that can help increase productivity.
• Investigating software-related complaints and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal software performance.
• Participate in product & engineering brainstorming sessions.
• Define & participate actively in the agile/scrum software development process.
• Interact with different members to ensure the successful delivery of each sprint iteration and product release.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders & product managers.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in a technical discipline (ex: Computer Science, IT), MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• Experience: 7-8 years working in a technological leadership role with 3+ years leading a team of software engineers of B2B/B2C products (platform)
• Expertise in building & leading software development of SaaS-based ed-tech or health-tech platforms will be an added advantage
• Hands-on experience in Java and React JS is a must.
• Tech strategy leader with an ability to wear multiple hats, such as being an application developer, technical architect, database designer and reviewing code
• Large-scale software product engineering experience with modern tools and delivery methods in a complex environment (i.e. DevOps, Agile, etc.)
• Exposure to a deeper understanding of the digital product development lifecycle process, including analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and security & deployment management
• Advanced technological skillset and a demonstrated history with technology
• Exceptional team management skills & excellent in verbal & written communication
• Ability to delegate efficiently
