The Opportunity
BCTI is actively seeking a Lead software engineer to support our global BCTI Research team. The successful candidate should be detailed orientated, self-directed, highly self-motivated, have an analytical/problem solving mindset, have a willingness to learn and upskill and be able to balance team approach with personal initiative. A keen interest in internet security, Cloud, Large database development and architecture are recommended. A limited amount of travel and weekend work may be required from time to time within this role.
• Cloud and off-cloud development and understanding of multi-tenant architectures.
• Maintaining existing databases and cloud services of highly available systems.
• Research and development of new database systems and architectures.
• Large database development and architecture containing trillions of records and growing.
What it takes
• 8+ years of software development in highly available systems.
• 8+ years of SQL, NoSQL, GSQL, GraphQL, and Casandra type languages.
• 8+ years of C#, ASP.NET & RESTful API development.
• 5+ years of .NET 5.0 and later.
• 3+ years of Spark & AWS EMR.
• 3+ years of working with AWS cloud computing technologies, or similar.
• 3+ years in a Lead role.
• Competent in C/C++.
• Windows development, Linux deployments.
• Visual Studio and other Microsoft development tools.
• Source control and automated build systems (preferably GitLab).
• Understanding of OOP, TDD, and Agile development.
• Knowledge of .NET Framework for legacy systems.
• Able to work independently given a task and requirements.
You are great at
• Jira, Confluence and Statuspage.io.
• PowerShell and Python helpful, but not required.
• Knowledge of AWS Services (SQS, Kinesis Firehose, Stored Parameters, CloudFront, S3, etc.)
