Currently, only 10% of Indians can use banks when they need credit: banks typically require a high credit score or collateral, something most people don't have. It need not be this way. Using a combination of traditional data and the vast amount of digital data available, it is now possible to score the unscored.
Today, we receive 15000 new loan applications daily from across 4000 cities in India, and we are growing 15-20% MoM. People reach us at their time of need, and we offer them credit via our app. Money reaches their bank account within 24 hrs of application.
We are addressing head-on a big challenge. It's also a great opportunity from both a commercial and societal impact perspective. We can improve lives for millions. It is no exaggeration to say that our addressable market will be 400mm within 5 years. It's pretty exciting, we think.

As one of the primary engineers on the team, you'll be building and scaling production systems for our growing customer base. You’ll work on a breadth of systems including real time decision engines, loan origination, collection, dynamic credit, deep integrations with Indian FIs, KYC, smart document processing & our internal workflow management applications. You'll also work on the new products that we introduce to improve the financial lives of our customers.
Your Work Will Involve
• End to end execution from design & development to testing of solutions for various customer and business use cases
• Drive automation across customer lifecycle including but not limited to fraud detection and credit decisions
• Build capabilities to launch new products for our customers
• Prototype and build new solutions to manage rapid scaling while maintaining low latency
• Evaluate, upgrade & drive engineering process orientation within the team
• Mentor younger engineers
Skills & Qualifications
• Have hands on experience with Java.
• 5-7 years' experience in software development on large scale production systems
• Comfortable with multiple layers of infrastructure and application stack - UI, application layer, database, and security
• Deep working knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases
• 3+ years experience on large scale production systems
• 1+ years experience with AWS products - DynamoDB, Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, SQS, S3 etc.

Tech stack: The primary interface for our 80,000 daily active users is our Android app written in Java. On the backend we have 100+ microservices with serverless deployment that handle the entire user services and workflow management from onboarding, data collection, decision engine, document processing, disbursals and collections. This is complemented with an internal nodeJS application for Operations workflow management. Our data science modules & decision engines are written in Python and deployed over serverless architecture as well. We have dynamoDB as our primary database, and AWS Glue based ETL architecture for our secondary database. Querying on secondary database is via Athena.
