What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to take a pivotal role within an Agile team, collaborating closely with the Technical Product Owner and Principal Software Engineer to create high-quality, scalable solutions. You will play a vital role in the Total Leave portfolio, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of innovative features while working with business architects to enhance our technical solutions.
Your expertise in Fineos and custom Fineos development is critical, as you'll be responsible for hands-on configurations, implementing Java enhancements, and integrating Fineos components within Unum's larger ecosystem. You will also evaluate third-party and cloud technologies to modernize our capabilities and ensure seamless integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of application features, ensuring they align with quality attributes such as performance and scalability.
• Provide technical leadership for EPIC feature delivery, utilizing best practices in software design, coding, and documentation.
• Mentor team members, fostering an environment that promotes growth and innovation.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable solutions in line with architectural standards.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and optimization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Over 6 years of experience in software development within a Scrum/Agile setting.
• Strong skills in Java (including J2EE technologies) and experience with Fineos Admin Suite configurations and customizations.
• Proficiency in relational databases and SQL query writing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and experience leading collaborative discussions.
