Job Summary:
As a Lead Software Engineer within Markets-Equity Technology team of Corporate and Investment Bank at JP Morgan, you will work in a dynamic, agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a talented hands-on individual, you will be responsible for delivery of an exciting new client facing project in the world of Credit Portfolio Trading. Specifically, you will be involved in enhancing our platform to build out the micro-services stack to support the platform. You will also work on the generation of analytics and will have an opportunity to learn about financial analytics around Risk and Attribution. You'll be part of a talented group of developers working with our product team as well as quants and technology management having opportunities to demonstrate technical leadership. Responsible for delivering critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives along with supporting the integration of our private and public cloud platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with business sponsors to understand new work enhancements.
Be an active contributor to the design of the new platform.
Agree the schedule of delivery of the work with stakeholders and manage the demand from inception to production delivery.
Perform the technical delivery (front to back) - develop the changes requested and provide tested code.
As part of the wider team perform code reviews and ensure that we maintain the level of quality we are after as well as mentor more junior team members.
Executes standard software solutions, design, development, testing and deployment
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of good user experience and technical implications.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training, or certificationon software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
Proficiency in Python programming. Experience using pandas, numpy classes and unit tests.
Exposure to tools related to CI/CD (Jules/Jenkins), SCM tools: Bitbucket/Git, Application Resiliency, and Security
Creative, quick-thinking, pragmatic, with an aptitude for solving problems with technology and an ability to quickly translate requirements into a sound technical design and implementation.
Knowledge of Grid Computing and Object Databases
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (agile process)
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability . Unix/Linux
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Knowledge of software development techniques such as TDD/BDD
Familiarity with technologies, such as Java, GraphQL, microservices
Exposure to cloud technologies and UI technologies such as React
Credit knowledge (highly desirable)
