• The position will report to the Assistant Controller, APAC and EMEA in India, but he or she will have constant and direct interaction with the corporate accounting team based out of the U.S.

• The team is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support the General Ledger function. Responsibilities include supporting the monthly and quarterly accounting close and reporting process, interfacing with corporate business units, providing support with various inquiries, assisting with the compliance of global audits, and leading various automation projects and reporting
What You'll Do At Pega
45% Support global monthly/quarterly close and US SEC reporting activities
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations, analyzing and auditing various accounts, including debt, accruals, and investments.
• Review monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly consolidations – strong understanding of FX translation and transactions.
• Perform fluctuation analysis on responsible balance sheet and P&L areas and investigate unexplained/unexpected variances.
• Prepare and reference various areas of the SEC documents, including but not limited to the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Equity Statement and Notes to the Financial Statements
• Interface with external auditors and assist with support requests.
25% Knowledge Expert
• Serve as knowledge expert for responsible areas of accounting
• Assist internal stakeholders (FP&A, Tax Team, etc) with questions regarding issues/questions and proper accounting treatment
• Perform technical accounting research and modeling/application
20% Process Improvement / Implementation Assistance
• Proactively identify areas for improvement to reduce manual processes and procedures and increase efficiency
• Support IT in the development and upgrade/enhancement of automated systems, including business requirement gathering and user acceptance testing
10% Mentor
• Mentor/coach/train/cross-train junior team members in new accounting areas
Who You Are
• You have a strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting concepts for various aspects.
• You have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work cross-functionally, and balance demands of multiple stakeholders
• You are a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to problem-solve and utilize good judgement in obtaining solutions and making decisions
• You are self-driven and strive for continuous learning and development
What You've Accomplished
• Seven or more years of professional experience working either in a corporate setting with exposure to the General Ledger function and/or in a public accounting and audit firm. Specific knowledge within the software industry is a preferred but not required.
• Semi qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and Gen AI tools.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment with a global mindset.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work on stringent timelines.
• Familiarity with SAP, Blackline, Power BI, SAP Hana database and Workiva preferred but not required.
