The Lead Steward is responsible for supervising and organizing utility workers in order to maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety and hygeine standards in the kitchen, banquets, and restaurant areas.
The Lead Steward will:
Maintain cleanliness and hygeine in kitchen, banquets and restaurant areas
Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order
Assist kitchen staff with preparations and organization
Properly sort and dispose of waste and recyclables
Wash dishes, utensils, and other kitchen items
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations (HACCP Kitchen)
Monitor stock levels and communicate needs to supervisors
Assist with catering functions and events as needed. Assist banquet porters when required with set up and tear down of event spaces.
Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training as required
Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Comply with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Physical stamina to perform required tasks

$17-$19/hour plus gratuities and shift meals
