Northern Trust is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join its Technology Development Centre in Pune, India in the Investment Management team. This individual as part of an Agile development team, will be responsible for analysis and design of Multi Asset business platform that meet business and technical requirements.

Major Duties :

Analyse and build the requirements for Multi Asset Quant businesses of NT Asset Management

Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform

Provide technical guidance to the development team and deliver as per business needs

A team player with an ability to own the design and code as per requirement given.

Communicate status (written and verbal) to project team and management

Continuously looks for ways to improve the application's stability, scalability and user experience

Experience/ Skills:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology

8-12 years experienced Python consultant who will be responsible for design and develop highly efficient, scalable and customizable reporting solutions using on premises and external sources.

Experience in Quant based libraries and algorithms

Experience in multi-tiered, complex system design & architecture

Required Skills :

Excellent knowledge of SDLC and Agile development practices

Expert level knowledge of Python 3, Pandas, NumPy.

Experience on Data Analysis using Python 3

Strong experience in developing Fast API based backend APIs

Expert level understanding of developing native cloud applications - preferably Azure

Expertise in Implementing API driven Micro services

Experience in implementing security best practices to API platform - Oauth/SAML, Encryptions, masking etc.

Expert level understanding of writing automated unit test cases.

Experience in Asynch processing /Batch streaming to handle high volume data.

Knowledge of testing methodologies. Experience in Automate code releases and redundant tasks using Shell/Python scripting.

Manage permissions, backup and performance across different databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres etc

Experience with building interfaces to Data Lakes, Operational Data Stores and Enterprise Datawarehouse.

Expert knowledge of SQL and related SQL procedure languages.

Design, develop and use data structures and data marts to support reporting.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Both attention to detail & ability to rise above details to see broader implications & recommend strategic solutions

Self-starter; Positive & adaptable in a continually changing environment

Ability to work independently and with a team

Proven interpersonal and communication skills with technical & business partners

Strong understanding of building CI/CD pipelines for change management.

Preferred/ Recommended Skills:

Familiarity with Banking/Financial domain

Financial domain knowledge - Investment Management, portfolio construction and risk management.

Experience on Quant based libraries and building CAPM based models

Worked on project streamlining the testing process by introducing automation, leveraging tools and setting goals to reduce time and effort.
