Job Description

PAX Hospitality

We're looking for a Learning & Development Lead to deliver training, workshops and capability-building programs across our client base. This is not a traditional HR or People & Culture role.

Learning & Development Lead (Hospitality)
Full-time or Part-time | Melbourne-based | Flexible work arrangements

PAX is a hospitality strategy and operations business working with some of Australia’s most respected venues and hospitality groups. We help operators enhance their businesses so that they can enrich the communities around them— not through theory, but through clarity, structure, and practical execution.

We’re now looking for a Learning & Development Lead to help us deliver training, workshops and capability-building programs across our client base.

This role would suit someone who:

Loves teaching and developing people
Has experience in hospitality, training, or people development
Is ready to step out of service or shift away from traditional HR
Enjoys being hands-on, practical, and in front of people
Wants meaningful work with real-world impact
Finds something new in every workshop, even if it’s the 800th time they have facilitated it!
About the Role
This is not a traditional HR or People & Culture role.

You’ll be responsible for delivering training and development programs that help hospitality teams perform better — from owners and managers through to frontline staff.

You’ll work closely with the PAX leadership team to deliver workshops that cover areas like:

Recruitment & onboarding fundamentals
Leadership and management basics
Team culture and communication
Financial literacy for operators
Running effective events
Social media and brand execution
Growth and development pathways
The content will largely be developed by PAX — your role is to bring it to life, deliver it well, and help refine it over time.

Who This Role Is Perfect For
This role could suit:

A hospitality professional ready to move out of operations
A trainer or facilitator with hospitality experience
Someone with L&D, coaching, or HR exposure who prefers delivery over policy
A parent returning to work looking for meaningful, flexible hours
Someone who loves working with people and helping them improve
You don’t need to be an “expert” in everything — but you do need to be confident facilitating groups, communicating clearly, and adapting to different audiences.

What You’ll Be Doing
Delivering workshops and training sessions for hospitality teams
Supporting rollout of PAX learning programs
Working with clients across venues and groups
Helping refine and improve training content over time
Acting as a consistent, trusted presence for clients
Occasionally assisting with internal PAX development initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Confidence in front of groups
Hospitality experience or strong understanding of the industry
Organised, reliable, and self-directed
Comfortable working across different venues and teams
Values-led and people-focused
The Details
Full-time or part-time (flexible)
Melbourne-based
Mix of on-site delivery and remote work
Competitive salary depending on experience
Opportunity to grow with PAX as we scale
If you’re someone who enjoys helping people grow, loves hospitality, and wants to be part of building something genuinely meaningful — we’d love to hear from you.
