We are looking for caring, fun, highly motivated, adaptable people to join our team of bank staff to work when required across our Intensive Support and Supported Living services. The candidates must demonstrate an understanding towards vulnerable groups and aspire to make a difference. The role is diverse, rewarding and fun, alongside the opportunity of lifelong learning. Due to our rising service demand, we are looking to provide opportunities for people who would like to broaden their skills and experience within a social care environment.

As a specialist worker you will be working with complex and challenging individuals and playing a key role in achieving person centred and positive outcomes.

Your skills will include; recognising behaviour as a form of communication and to have psychological resilience when responding to difficult and emotionally charged episodes. You will have the ability to use reflective practice to imbed a culture of learning and effective communication, furthermore, you will be expected to work using evidenced based, proportionate and justifiable practices at all times.

Engagement and supporting purposeful activities must be a personal and attainable motivation. Working and supporting people inclusively, getting involved and being a role model shows ultimate value and respect towards the person; being creative, open minded and physically fit is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities;

Work responsively and in a person-centred way

Show flexibility within your working hours to deliver purposeful outcomes

Clear factual, non-subjective and detailed record keeping ability

Deliver the highest quality and standards of Positive Behaviour Support

Assist in the completion / review of; assessments, care plans and the formulation of PBS plans.

Have insight and ability in respect of risk and dynamic risk management

Contribute to effective multi-agency working practices.

Willingness to change and explore new ways of working

Embrace diversity for the needs of those we support and the effectiveness of care delivery.

To be successful at shortlisting you will be able to demonstrate experience of working with and knowledge of the physical, social and emotional needs of people with learning disabilities and behaviours that are complex and challenging. You will demonstrate experience of multi-agency working and working alongside other professionals and also be comfortable working with IT systems; you will have access to a wide variety of vocational learning and development opportunities.

Must have;

Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting people with learning disabilities and behaviours that are complex and challenging.

Good communications skills both written and verbal

Strong emotional and mental strength

Good level of English and Maths

Ability to build good rapport with service users, outside agencies and staff.
