Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pūkenga | Lecturer (Teaching and Administration) / Online Programme Lead to coordinate the delivery of UC's Master of Applied AI Programme via the Tuihono UC | UC Online platform.

As the Online Programme Coordinator, you will play a key role in designing equitable and engaging online learning experiences that empower our learners | ākonga. You’ll bring strong subject matter knowledge together with pedagogical expertise and a talent for learner engagement, turning great ideas into impactful, high‑quality learning journeys.

You will lead the programme with clear strategic direction, ongoing quality assurance, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Your work will ensure the curriculum remains highly relevant to industry needs and produces graduates ready to lead the effective and ethical application of AI across diverse sectors.

In this role, you will provide strategic and academic leadership for our applied artificial intelligence programmes, guiding curriculum design, online delivery, and the overall learner experience. You will oversee course performance, teaching quality, assessment, and moderation in alignment with university policies, while fostering strong industry partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and advisory board collaboration. Your leadership will support both the academic excellence and the reputation of the programme, contributing to effective recruitment and showcasing the value of our graduates.

Mōu | Who You Are
You will have a Masters in an area related to applied artificial intelligence, data science or similar subject are with experience in a managerial or leadership role. You will also have:

knowledge of recent developments in research / scholarship / creative work in the related field
a PhD in a relevant field, would be an advantage
demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed
evidence of reflective learning and continuous professional development
a willingness and desire to collaborate across the university and industry to create an outstanding curriculum and learning experience that draws interest
a willingness to learn about bicultural and multicultural issues in Aotearoa New Zealand society and display a willingness to engage professionally with equity and diversity.

You will work collaboratively with both Tuihono UC | UC Online and Te Kaupeka Pūhanga | Faculty of Engineering.
