Established in 2002 with a founding partnership of two individuals, WK has rapidly evolved to become Australasia’s leading specialist insurance and risk law firm. Our commitment to excellence has been consistently recognised, consistently ranked as a band 1 insurance firm in Legal 500 and acknowledged as one of the fastest-growing law firms in Australia.
Legal Administrators at WK
We do things differently here. Our Legal Administrative Assistants are valued members of the team, playing an integral role in practice management. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of key processes, manage your Partner’s practice, and delegate tasks to paralegals to ensure smooth workflow. With a flexible working model (2-3 days in the office, the rest from home), you’ll enjoy a balance of autonomy and collaboration while being actively involved in the team’s success. You’ll be included in meetings, firm events, and key initiatives, ensuring you feel connected and valued every step of the way.
About the role
Join our busy and collaborative legal team as a Legal Administrative Assistant, where no two days are the same. You'll play a key role in keeping matters moving by managing documents, supporting legal processes, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. If you're organised, proactive, and love keeping things in order, this could be your perfect fit.
In this role, you'll:
Take charge of document management — filing, formatting, labelling, and preparing legal materials with precision
Draft, finalise and file court documents, client letters, and audit responses
Help drive smooth billing processes — prepare invoices, handle queries, and keep financial records up to date
Run conflict checks, manage trust forms, and coordinate key deadlines and court timelines
Support lawyers with day-to-day admin, from diary management and expense processing to setting up expert calls and managing client updates
Keep client and matter details accurate and current using our legal systems
What you bring
Intermediate to senior-level experience as a legal administrative assistant or in a similar role (5+ years preferred)
Highly responsive and proactive approach to work. You’ll often need to act quickly and anticipate needs without waiting for direction
Strong organisational and time-management skills to keep a busy but manageable practice running smoothly
Excellent attention to detail and ability to take initiative
Familiarity with legal billing processes and systems
Proficiency in MS Office suite and legal software application
