Job Title: Legal Assistant
Duties:
• Assist our lawyers in drafting and preparing a wide range of legal documents, including court filings, contracts, agreements, land titles documents, and estate planning documents.
• Manage and organize legal files with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring adherence to firm protocols.
• Compile case information to bolster litigation and transactional matters.
• Efficiently coordinate appointments, meetings, and court appearances for legal professionals.
• Interact professionally and courteously with clients, opposing counsel, and external stakeholders.
• Provide essential administrative support, encompassing data entry, file management, and document retrieval.
• Participate in trial preparations and aid in the compilation of trial materials as required.
• Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth by staying informed about legal developments.
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Legal Administration or related field is preferred.
• Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, particularly within Real Estate, Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, or Wills & Estates, is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Prior experience with Clio is preferable.
• Exceptional organizational capabilities, keen attention to detail, and adept multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to become a commissioner for oaths if not currently certified.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and the ability to uphold strict confidentiality.
