Legal Assistant - Corporate
The Buffalo office of Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Corporate team. The successful candidate will support the team in drafting and reviewing letters, exhibits and legal documents, and will be key to supporting the administrative functions of the group. The ideal candidate is highly organized, quick to learn, and has strong proofreading skills.
Responsibilities will include:
Prepare memoranda to open new matters
Assist in the drafting, formatting, and proofreading of legal documents
Assist with calendaring critical dates
Create and maintain schedules for client meetings
Create, maintain and organize electronic and hard copy files
Prepare transmittal cover letters
Save, print, and file document submissions
Prepare and track delivery requests as needed
Create accounting bills and expense reports as needed
Maintain closed files
Our ideal Legal Assistant will have:
At least 2 years of experience in a law firm environment, preferably corporate transactional.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Working knowledge of ProLaw or similar document management systems
Experience with editing, revising, and drafting legal documents
Exemplary organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Accurate typing speed of 65+ wpm
Ability to multitask and to complete projects with little direction
Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information
Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products
Salary range depending on experience: $20-$24/hour
The pay range provided in this listing is a good faith estimate for this position based on the location that we are hiring for. Criteria included but not limited to, skill level, education, and experience, will determine where a candidate falls within the range.
