About the role

Join our passionate and supportive Dispute Resolution team in Sydney as a Legal Assistant! This is a fantastic opportunity to provide essential administrative and secretarial support to a partner and wider team.

The role offers plenty of variety including:

Creating, drafting, editing and formatting a range of legal correspondence and documents including tender bundles and briefs to counsel
Assisting with project managing files including drafting cost agreements, monitoring fee estimates and client reporting
End to end monthly billing including timesheets, and bill finalisation
Handling court diaries and lawyers calendars
Coordinating meetings and internal/external functions and events
Opening/closing matters including e-filing and physical archiving via Aderant Expert and iManage
Arranging travel and reconciling expenses on a monthly basis and
General ad hoc administrative duties.

About you

We’re looking for a proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently exceeds expectations. With at least 4 years of experience in a similar role within a private practice law firm, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and excellent communication and organisational skills to the team.

Other key skills you’ll bring include:

A solid understanding of litigious procedures and legal terminology
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Experience with Aderant Expert for billing (advantageous)
Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines
A keen eye for detail
A high level of professionalism, initiative, and a can-do attitude
