Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional legal and administrative support to in-house counsel
Assist with the management of litigation files, including drafting correspondence, coordinating discovery, preparing records and lists, drafting and filing court documents, and supporting trial preparation
Maintain and update internal litigation tracking and management systems
Liaise with opposing counsel, external legal teams, court offices, and other third parties
Ensure the accurate organization and upkeep of electronic and physical legal files
Contribute to internal investigations, fact-finding, document review, and preparation of detailed summaries
Perform a variety of general administrative tasks as needed to support the group of companies
Key Competencies:
Possess three years of experience as a Legal Assistant, including at least two years focused on commercial and/or civil litigation
Completion of a recognized post-secondary Legal Assistant program is preferred
Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and proactively take initiative
In-depth understanding of procedures, protocols, and general etiquette related to regulatory bodies, tribunals, and courts of all levels in British Columbia
Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a professional and approachable demeanor
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and uphold professionalism at all times
Prior experience in an in-house legal environment is an asset
Bonuses:
Annual Performance Bonus
$50,000 bonus for referral of a Master Franchisee
$25,000 bonus for referral of an Area Representative Ownership
$15,000 bonus for referral of a Full-Ownership Franchise Partner
$5,000 bonus for referral of a Director of Franchise Sales (must be full-time, exclusive & live in the area)
$1,000 bonus for each successful location you find.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
