Job Overview

As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice.
Duties
Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
Prepare and organize legal documents, correspondence, and case files.
Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and assist in gathering relevant information for cases.
Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records.
Proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
Manage project timelines and assist in coordinating case-related activities.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients, courts, and other stakeholders.
Experience
Proven experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably within a legal environment.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using iManage or similar document management systems is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
A background in project management will be beneficial for coordinating various tasks efficiently.
