The Role
South East Injury Lawyers is currently seeking a Legal Assistant/Receptionist to join our team full-time or part-time (4 days per week) on a permanent basis.
We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant/Receptionist to support our pragmatic and down-to-earth personal injuries team at our Gold Coast office in Hope Island.
This role will suit someone who enjoys a challenge and prides themselves on their attention to detail and their ability to follow through on commitments.
The role will be provided with support and mentoring from highly experienced paralegals. You will gain access to interesting and challenging matters in all areas of personal injury law and the opportunity to be part of a developing law firm that is committed to building strong relationships with our staff and clients.
The Responsibilities
Reception duties, including greeting clients and organising meeting rooms
General file and archiving management
General office administration as required (including telephone calls, mail requirements, photocopying, filing, stationery requirements, office purchases, etc.)
Undertake searches with government departments
Coordinate medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences and mediations
Correspond, brief and liaise with medical practitioners and other experts
Drafting briefs and liaising with Counsel
General correspondence and drafting legal documents such as claim forms
Prepare matters for conference/mediation and hearing, including preparation of court documents
The Skills
Experience in office or legal administration (personal injury law is preferred)
Fast and accurate typing skills, with Intermediate Word and Excel skills
Experience with quickly learning new software applications
Excellent attention to detail
A team-focussed attitude
A proactive and self-motivated nature
The ability to prioritise tasks and communicate about deliverables to team and clients
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with clients, third parties, suppliers and our team
Undertaking your work with empathy, authenticity and integrity
