CR Lawyers LLP is a well-established full-service law firm with offices located in four Vancouver Island communities in downtown Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay and Ucluelet. Our firm is looking for a Legal Assistant for our Wills & Estates Department with 1-3 years of experience for our Campbell River office location supporting our Solicitors Department. We encourage experienced candidates with exceptional customer service to apply for this position.
The successful candidate will be an organized, enthusiastic, hard working, team member who will have the opportunity to contribute their skills and expertise and work collaboratively with a team of dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues.
Ideal qualifications:
1-3 years of legal experience.
Proficient with wills & estates files
Comfortable using Microsoft 365, BC Online, LTSA and various computer programs.
Experience using copiers, scanners, fax machines and point of sale.
Open to training opportunities and developing new skills.
Duties Include but not limited to:
Primary support for our Solicitors Department.
Open and close client files
Manage Lawyer's calendars, meeting schedules and Bring Forward (BF) system.
Draft documents and correspondence based on written instruction or verbal direction.
Administrative duties that include conducting conflict searches, file organization, answering emails, scheduling appointments, making photocopies, scanning or other duties as assigned.
Organize and maintain precedents.
Assist with day to day inquiries and requests.
Work Hours & Benefits
This is a full time in-person employment opportunity working Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with a one hour unpaid lunch hour, in our Campbell River office location.
