Job Description

Top Long Island immigration law firm is seeking SPANISH SPEAKING LEGAL ASSISTANT OR PARALEGAL for our HEMPSTEAD office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Be knowledgeable about case law as it pertains to the type of law that is practiced by this firm

• Prepare cases for USCIS and EOIR

• Prepare cases for consulate processing

• Meet with Clients and Write Notes for Asylum statements, Extreme Hardship statements, Witness statements, Family Court statements,

• Write Simple Motions such as Adjourn, Re-Calendar, Web-Ex, PD (terminate/dismiss or admin close)

• Prepare evidence Packets for USCIS Cases and EOIR Cases – This includes: Readying materials for any proceedings including documents, evidence and verifying factual information

• Responding to RFEs, NOIDS

• E-file to DHS, filings to EOIR, filings to USCIS

• Researching and compiling information that helps strengthen a case

• Communicating with Lawyers and clients to keep everyone up to date

• Prepare Case Brief/Summary for EOIR/Family Court Dates

• Enter/Scan information and documents into Electronic Case Management system (Cerenade)

This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday or every other Saturday schedule.

Salary based on experience.
