About the opportunity:
An opportunity for a Legal Counsel has become available to join our high performing Australia and New Zealand legal team on a 12-month fixed term contract. We are a small close-knit team who are relied on as strategic and solutions-focused business partners. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial legal professional to be part of a collaborative team which aspires to always provide commercial and value-adding legal advice to its business partners.
Priorities & responsibilities include:
Providing high quality advice in a way that builds trust and inspires confidence on a variety of legal issues;
Proactively supporting the organisation’s ethics and compliance objectives;
Identifying and addressing developments in areas of law and regulation that affect our business; and
Actively participating in projects and initiatives which enable growth while mitigating legal and compliance risk
To succeed, you will bring with you the ability to deal with complex legal and business questions and to communicate effectively across the business. Your excellent drafting skills and strong legal and commercial business acumen will be needed, as will your agility and ability to think and act strategically.
About you:
6 years + post-qualification experience, ideally including a highly regarded private practice environment;
Experience in corporate/commercial law, competition, consumer, IP or employment law/industrial relations will be advantageous;
Excellent academic record; and
Excellent drafting skills
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to commence September / October 2026.
