Your Story with Zip

We're seeking a Legal Counsel for the ANZ Legal Team. You'll work directly with business units, leveraging experience in transactional/commercial matters and financial services regulations.

The Challenges You'll Face

Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including partnership, merchant, non-disclosure agreements, marketing terms & conditions, and service provider agreements.
Provide legal advice on relevant regulation, including the National Consumer Credit Act and Privacy Act 1+88, under supervision and guidance from senior members of the legal team and General Counsel, ANZ.
E nsure commercial agreements comply with regulatory requirements and that obligations flow through to operationalization for ongoing compliance.
Drive engagement with commercial teams to strategically understand deals and ensure agreements are commercially sound and can be operationally supported.
Manage external law firms providing legal advice.
Develop a deep understanding of Zip's products and business operations.
Your Skills and Experience

A minimum of 3-7 years of prior legal experience from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house counsel position.
Experience in reviewing, drafting, negotiation, and closing of commercial/transactional agreements.
Familiarity with fintech, consumer finance, and regulatory laws/regimes in Australia (and New Zealand is a plus).
Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to identify potential risks and concerns regarding the decisions of others, generating alignment for successful launch of products/features/solutions.
Excellent internal and external client interfacing skills.
Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced culture while delivering sound legal advice, with support from the General Counsel, ANZ.
A can-do attitude and solutions-focused approach.
An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
