Role Description:
Chaubey & Company is seeking a highly motivated Legal Intern for a full-time, on-site position at our Kolkata office. The internship will initially span one month starting immediately, with the possibility of extension based on performance and mutual agreement. The role offers valuable exposure to both litigation and non-litigation work in a dynamic legal environment.
The Legal Intern will assist with:
• Drafting and preparation of legal documents.
• Conducting legal research and case analysis.
• Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and court officials.
• Supporting attorneys in legal consulting and case strategy.
• Gaining hands-on experience in courtroom procedures at both lower courts and the High Court.
Qualifications:
• Currently in the 4th or 5th year of a BA.LLB or equivalent degree program.
• Prior experience in court and litigation work, including internships or hands-on exposure.
• Familiarity with the functioning of lower courts and the High Court.
• Basic drafting and legal research skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Interest or coursework in corporate law, criminal law, or related areas is preferred.
