External Member – Internal Committee (POSH Compliance)
Location: Mumbai
Type: Full time role with POSH at Work to serve as an external member in the IC of client organizations
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to serve as an External Member on the Internal Committee (IC) of organizations in accordance with Section 4(2)(c) of the POSH Act, 2013. The role requires advising and participating in the resolution of ****** harassment complaints and supporting organizations in maintaining a safe and respectful workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in IC meetings and inquiry proceedings as an independent third-party member.
• Assist the IC in conducting fair, unbiased, and timely inquiries into complaints of ****** harassment.
• Guide the IC on the legal framework of the POSH Act and other relevant laws.
• Provide expert insights to ensure compliance with due process and principles of natural justice.
• Maintain neutrality and confidentiality throughout the proceedings.
• Help draft inquiry reports, recommendations, and compliance documentation.
• Offer periodic feedback to the employer on improving the workplace culture and POSH implementation.
Qualifications:
• Fluent with written and spoken English (knowing Hindi and Marathi will be preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced with drafting legal opinions, petitions etc.
• Experience in social work, women's rights, legal aid, human rights, gender justice, or workplace diversity.
• Minimum 5–10 years of professional experience in the areas relevant to POSH law or gender justice (Must have handled 5 to 10 complaints of ****** harassment in the past, Must have conducted 10 to 15 training and / or awareness sessions in the past).
• Good understanding of the POSH Act, 2013, rules, and case laws.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
• Strong knowledge of workplace policies, HR procedures, and legal systems.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive cases involving trauma and interpersonal conflict.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and objectivity.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including report drafting.
• Comfort with digital platforms (for virtual meetings, digital evidence review).
• Prior experience as IC External Member in other companies is a strong plus.
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn, explore and grow
Desirable Achievements:
• Led or participated in multiple IC inquiries successfully or disciplinary inquiries.
• Published articles, research, or conducted workshops on gender justice or workplace safety.
• Trained employees or IC members on the POSH Act.
• Recognized by reputed forums/organizations for work in women’s rights, law, or DEI.

- Assisting the Legal team in Contract Drafting
- Legal Documentation
- Assisting on other Legal matters as and when required
- Legal vetting and drafting of ecommerce, lending and trade contracts.
- Legal research on regulatory issues
