Role Description
This is an internship role for a Legal Intern at TM Collins Law. The Legal Intern will observe and assist lawyers, conduct legal research, help with the preparation of legal documents, and have the opportunity to shadow client meetings and court appearances. The role is designed as a learning experience for students pursuing a legal education and provides insight into the workings of a legal practice.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills
Enthusiastic and willing to learn
Ability to conduct legal research and analysis
Currently pursuing a degree in Law or a related field (enrolment in an accredited educational institution is essential)
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Previous internship or work experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required
Important Information
This internship is designed to meet the requirements of a vocational placement as defined by the Fair Work Act 200+, which means:
It is unpaid, and no employment relationship exists.
The primary purpose is to provide a learning experience for the intern, with tasks designed to facilitate skill development.
The internship is part of a formal educational or training program and must be credited towards your law degree or course.
If the internship does not qualify as a vocational placement under an accredited educational program, it will need to be a structured learning opportunity with no expectation of productive work.
Location and commitment
We are flexible and understanding of university commitments and can discuss hours that are suitable to your schedule.
Our office is based on Collins Street, Melbourne.
This is an unpaid vocational placement internship. It is suitable only for students undertaking this internship as part of their accredited university course.
