Legal Secretary | Private Client
Job description
Our busy Private Client Department is searching for a legal secretary to expand our growing team.
A candidate with experience in Probate and Estate Administration is essential. You will work alongside our existing secretarial team. The role involves working for three fee earners and supporting them by performing various administrative duties. These include typing legal documents and correspondence, answering the telephone, organising diaries, maintaining organised files, communicating with clients and answering simple enquiries.
Good organisational skills are imperative, as is an ability to show initiative when required. Working as part of a team is essential.
Salary – market rate dependent upon experience.
Tasks
• Audio typing or copy typing of letters and other documents.
• Receiving and dealing with telephone calls, taking messages and answering simple enquiries.
• Dealing with file creation and organisation in line with office and Lexcel requirements.
• Under the guidance of the fee earner, seeing clients to take instructions and complete forms.
• Diary maintenance.
• Liaising with the firm's accounts department and following accounts procedures.
• Opening files and archiving closed files.
• Any other tasks that may be required.
Requirements
Essential:
• Experience in Probate Administration work.
• Audio typing experience.
• Communication - good telephone manner.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Personable manner and team working skills.
Desirable:
• Basic knowledge of legal procedures.
• Word processing training and/or experience.
