About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Services Director to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide strategic legal leadership and guidance on commercial matters, ensuring we effectively manage risk while meeting business objectives.
You will report to the Deputy General Counsel and be based in Adelaide, supporting the Group Legal & Commercial function. This role will play a pivotal part in enabling us to deliver high-quality services to clients within acceptable risk profiles.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans to drive commercial objectives and compliance;
Provide expert legal advice and guidance on commercial matters;
Lead and manage contractual negotiations and disputes;
Guide the business on contract and legal compliance, risk identification, dispute resolution, intellectual property, confidential information, and insurances;
Effectively interface with group corporate support functions.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Laws or equivalent with approximately two to four years post-admission experience;
Full working rights in Australia and an Australian Practicing Certificate;
Demonstrated ability to develop productive relationships with individuals from varying backgrounds and levels of seniority;
A blend of experience across private practice and in-house roles, particularly in commercial/corporate law, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, defence, contract law, and tendering.
