About this role
As a Lending Assessment & Capability Officer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality assessments across secured and unsecured lending applications. You’ll analyse income, liabilities, credit history, serviceability and collateral security while ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
You’ll also uplift business capability by coaching bankers and brokers, identifying trends, and supporting continuous improvement in lending quality.
This role is ideal for an experienced lender who values professionalism, judgement, and building a strong credit culture.
What you’ll be doing Lending Assessment (80%)
Make compliant, accurate credit decisions aligned with TMBL’s Credit Risk Policy Framework.
Assess collateral security, including valuation and legal considerations.
Prepare and validate compliant credit documentation.
Maintain accurate, timely records within core banking systems.
Ensure applications are complete, enforceable, and settlement‑ready.
Capability Uplift & Quality Assurance (20%)
Provide coaching and feedback to bankers and brokers on submission quality.
Support the uplift of QA frameworks and broader business capability.
Conduct QA reviews and identify key trends across lending submissions.
Deliver insights that support continuous improvement.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance lending accuracy and confidence.
What you’ll bring
Extensive credit underwriting experience across secured and unsecured lending.
Delegation authority of $1M+ with 2+ years in secured credit decisioning.
Strong analytical and decision‑making capability.
Experience coaching and uplifting capability across lending teams or brokers.
Certificate IV in Financial Services and sound knowledge of the NCCP Act.
