The Role
Christchurch based and reporting to the head of the service department, we are looking to appoint a Systems Engineer who will work closely with and support the team of Senior Engineers to provide technical expertise and support to primarily SME clients. This role forms a critical part of the Computer Culture team and is jointly accountable for improving the performance of our loyal clients and their teams. The Systems Engineer will work collaboratively with the talented bunch of engineers within our Christchurch service delivery team to support the systems and infrastructure of our clients along with providing technical assistance and expertise. We are seeking someone who demonstrates Computer Culture's philosophy that our people have the solutions to challenges they face and can truly and effectively engage and build strong relationships with internal and external clients, providing quality solutions to meet their needs.
Skills and Experience
This broad and varied role requires a skilled Systems Engineer with a natural talent for establishing effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in an open, collaborative and approachable manner. A key element of this role is to identify and understand IT requirements and problem solve to deliver effective solutions. You will have a proven ability to build trust and work confidently with other System Engineers, Technicians and clients where required.
You will have troubleshooting and fault investigation experience, as well as a security-first approach to design and implementation. You will understand the TCP/IP networking stack, including wireless, Microsoft 365 management, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams. Also required is Windows Desktop and Server Administration experience.
You will have the ability to work closely with Senior Systems Engineers to analyse and make robust decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications, and cost. Additionally, you will have no problem rolling up your sleeves and helping where needed in a busy service delivery consultancy environment.
