About the Role
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and customer-focused Library Officer / Shelver to join our Library Services team.
Reporting to the Branch Coordinator, you will support the delivery of high-quality public library services through shelving and maintaining library collections, assisting customers at the circulation desk, facilitating junior programmes such as Story-time and Pram Jam, and providing support with library technology and resources.
You’ll also contribute to creating welcoming and inclusive library spaces by assisting with library promotions, events, displays, and day-to-day branch operations. This role is based between the Success and Spearwood branch libraries, but may require flexibility to work across different library branches as needed.
About you
We’re seeking an enthusiastic team player with a genuine passion for customer service and community engagement. You’ll enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Besides demonstrated experience, you’ll need to have:
Completed Year 12 or equivalent experience
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Sound computer and digital technology skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Flexibility and adaptability to support changing operational requirements
Ability to undertake tasks involving lifting, stretching, and bending in accordance with health and safety guidelines
A genuine interest in libraries, literacy, and community services
Desirable:
Current WA Driver’s Licence Class ‘C’
Experience with digital technologies and social media
Interest in literature, film, music, and community programs

Salary and Benefits: Salary range from Level 2 Step 1 – Step 4 ($69,644.23 - $75,134.79) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
