About the team:

The Property Practice at Colin Biggers & Paisley is a specialist property and development practice acting for a number of large scale property developers across Australia with a focus on New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. We have offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Our National Off the Plan Paralegal Team consists of more than half a dozen specialist trained Licensed Conveyancers and Senior Paralegals who solely focus on off the plan large scale developments (both residential and commercial) with the support of a team of junior paralegals.

About the role:

We are searching for a Senior Licensed Conveyancer/Project Conveyancing Paralegal to join our highly regarded and dynamic property and development team in Sydney. The role is within our specialist Off the Plan Property Paralegal Team and is to manage and coordinate various large scale off the plan land and built form projects (both residential and commercial) and run all stream off the plan project conveyancing in relation to those projects using our digital contract exchange and reporting platforms.

The role includes:
Day to day file management of off the plan large scale conveyancing matters from issue of contract to completion including:
Preparing and issuing electronically off the plan contracts (both residential and commercial).
Drafting correspondence to the purchaser's representatives including replying to requested amendments.
Communicating with clients to receive instructions and to provide limited advice.
Liaising with clients, real estate agents, lenders and other stakeholders including providing regular reporting where required.
Conducting on-line searches and enquires.
Managing investment of deposits in accordance with the relevant legislation and contract terms..
Managing bulk completion/settlement of matters including:
issuing of registration notices
coordination of settlements
preparation and management for PEXA workspaces
preparation of settlement adjustment statements and settlement funds directions (and submitting them for approval by relevant parties)
liaising with discharging mortgagees and other registered interest holders
preparation of notices to complete and any other notices needed to be issued under the contract for sale
About you:
Minimum 4 to 5 years' experience as a Licensed Conveyancer/Project Conveyancing Paralegal with strong experience in day to day management of conveyancing matters preferably for large scale off the plan developments.
Strong knowledge of PEXA.
Knowledge of PlanIT or other electronic contract exchange platforms (desirable but not essential).
High attention to and eye for detail.
Relevant qualifications and a strong understanding of the requirements of the Conveyancing Act 1919 (NSW) in particular Division 10.
Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal and written skills with a focus on client service and ability to work within a tight knit team.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, respond promptly and effectively to clients and purchaser's representatives.
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft products, including Excel (desirable but not essential).
Knowledge of iManage or similar document management system
Knowledge of Elite 3E or similar finance system.
